The Chinese mobile maker, Coolpad has made back to back announcements about two new smartphones in the kitty. Out of two, first one is Coolpad Cool 2, which is an effort of partnership of LeEco and Coolpad, first announced in China and likely to reach Indian market very soon. The first edition from their joint venture Coolpad Cool 1 was launched in India and we can safely assume that next one will also be launched here. The second phone, Coolpad Note 6, which is an exclusive to Indian market smartphone and is already available for purchase through offline stores. Let’s get into them one by one
The Coolpad Cool 2 runs Android 7.0 Nougat and supports Dual SIMs. It packs a 5.7-inches HD+ display protected with curved 2.5D glass with 1440 x 720 pixels resolution, trending 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. In terms of optics, Cool 2 packs a vertically aligned dual rear camera featuring 13 megapixel and 0.3 megapixel image sensors. It is also equipped with 8 megapixel shooter on the front for clicking selfies.
The Coolpad Cool 2 has a metal body and measures 154.7 x 73.3 x 9 mm in terms of dimensions. It is charged up with a 3200mAh capacity battery. Connectivity features includes 4G VoLTE support, micro USB port, 3.5mm headphone jack. The smartphone has not experimented much with its design in comparison to previous edition as it has not opted for notched displays or full screen displays.
Coolpad Cool 2 Price is not revealed yet, but it might sits in the range of Rs.14,999 looking into the price of previous outing. Nothing is known about the availability, but handset is only announced for China at this point of time and soon will be expanded to other regions including India.
Coolpad Note 6 Features, Price and Availability in India
The Coolpad Note 6 sports a 5.5-inches FHD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat and supports Dual nano SIMs. It has a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core SoC, Adreno 505 GPU. It comes in two storage variants of 32GB and 64GB internal storage paired with 4GB RAM under the hood.
Talking about camera configurations, Note 6 packs a 13 mega-pixel auto-focus camera with 6p lens and f/2.2 aperture. On the front, it has a dual setup featuring 8 megapixel and 5 megapixel sensors with 120-degree wide angle lens.
Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India said in a press statement that;
“With a dual selfie camera, great viewing experience, long lasting battery, Coolpad Note 6 will offer a great value for money smartphone for the Indian customers. We are also planning to introduce few more aggressive offline devices in next 2-3 months, in order to make an expansion in the offline market through our retails partners and multi-brand outlets. We are expecting that Coolpad will be able to make a strong presence in the offline market by the end of 2018.”
The smartphone offers 350 hours of standby time in one charge with a 4070mAh capacity battery power. Fingerprint scanner is mounted on the front panel. Connectivity features includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, and a Micro-USB port. It measures 153.7 x 76.4 x 8.62 mm in terms of dimensions and weighs at 170 gram.
Coolpad Note 6 Price in India is set at Rs.8,999 for 32GB/4GB version and Rs.9,999 for 64GB/4GB variant. It is already available for purchase through 300 offline retail outlets across the country starting from 1st May in Gold and Grey colour options. It is another offline exclusive smartphone from company after they launched Coolpad Mega 4A and Coolpad A1 for offline market.
