On the eve on Republic Day, Jio further cut off prices of its various plans including that of JioPhone. Now JioPhone users can avail two plans with 28 days validity each offering different benefits under the hood. Jio introduced new Jio Rs.49 pack exclusively for JioPhone users as a Republic day gift.
JioPhone – ‘India Ka Smartphone’
JioPhone was launched back in July, 2017 at practical cost of Rs.0, where users need to make recharge of Rs.149 per month and they can return back the device after three years getting back their amount. In start, JioPhone users were allowed only 500mb data per day on a recharge of Rs.149 while the non-JioPhone holders were getting 1GB per day data.
On New year, Jio slashed prices of its existing Unlimited plans and introducing new 1.5GB per day data plans. They also went to introduce Rs.153 pack exclusively for JioPhone users offering 1GB per day instead of half on the previous pack.
Now, the telecom company has announced another plan, dubbed as Jio Rs.49 Plan which will offer 1GB per day with 28 days validity. While, the Rs.153 plan now offers 1.5GB data per day with a validity of 28 days.
We think that this is enough data on a feature phone, which does not support Whatsapp. However, Jio Rs.49 pack violates the buy-back guarantee program. As according to the policy, A JioPhone buyer needs to make recharge of Rs.1,500 annually (Rs.150 x 12) consecutively for 36 months or 3 years in order to avail refund amount of your purchase.
This Jio Rs.49 pack comes a great disappointment for the people who are looking to refund their feature phone after three years.
