Lenovo S5 with dual rear cameras,18:9 display is expected to launch on 20th March

Few days back, Lenovo teased about launch of a new ‘S’ series smartphone and invite was sent out for an exclusive event to be held on 20th March, 2018. Invite is followed by sharing of couple of images revealing the design and few specifications about the device. All these developments individually does not confirm directly that it will be dubbed as Lenovo S5, but if they are combined together to form a conclusion then one can easily point out the name of device.

Chang Cheng, Lenovo Executive first posted an invite for the scheduled event on 20th March, 2018. The invite does not reveal much but it reads out to be one of the ‘S’ series smartphone. But, Chang Cheng accidentally uploaded that invite from the to-be-launched device itself because post states that ‘Uploaded from Lenovo S5’. At the same time, a new Lenovo smartphone with model name K520 passed TENNA certification (a certification, that is must before launching a new handset in China). If we conclude all of these reports, we can say that Lenovo S5 with model name K520 should launch on 20th March.

Today, the same Executive from Lenovo shared few images of Lenovo S5, which suggests that it will sport a dual camera setup on the back side with dual tone-LED flash. Images also shows a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It looks like handset will sport 18:9 aspect ratio display. Teaser hinted that it will run Android Oreo based ZUI skin.

If we look into TENNA certification, then Lenovo S5 K520 will sport 5.65-inch FHD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio curved glass display. It will be powered by a 2GHz Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor paired with 3GB/4GB RAM.

It is likely to compete with the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which is slated to launch in China under the moniker Redmi Note 5 on 16th March. It can be expected that, Lenovo S5 will be a mid-ranger with some powerful specifications.
