Lenovo S5 Launched with FHD+ 18:9 display, dual camera and Android Oreo

Lenovo S5 was earlier teased to launch on 20th March has been finally announced in China today. It is a new addition to ‘S’ series, which is famous for offering mid-rangers. We already know the in’s and out’s of smartphone because company was teasing it in full to complete with the Redmi Note 5 Pro (launched in China with the name of Redmi Note 5). The USP of Lenovo S5 is packing of taller than normal Full HD+ display, facial recognition, Android Oreo and dual camera setup.

The Lenovo S5 sports a 5.7-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo based ZUI 3.7 and supports Dual SIMs through hybrid slot. Smartphone has got handling of navigation through gesture controls through U-touch 4.0. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core CPU clocked at 2.0GHz speed and Adreno 506 GPU. It packs dual camera at the back featuring double 13 megapixel sensors, one for monochrome and other for RGB. Dual camera offers f/2.2 aperture and has dual-tone LED flash. S5 also features a 16 megapixel selfie shooter with same f/2.2 aperture. The front snapper is integrated with real time AI beauty features and facial recognition.

It is presented in three memory variants – first one packs 3GB RAM paired with 32GB internal storage, second one features 4GB RAM along with 64GB RAM and third variant offers 4GB RAM coupled with 128GB onboard storage. In terms of biometric authentication, apart from facial unlock, Lenovo S5 has a fingerprint scanner mounted on the back side. It is charged up by a 3000mAh battery. In connectivity department, it supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, A-GPS, GLONASS, FM radio, Bluetooth v4.2, USB OTG and Type-C 1.0 reversible connector. It measures 154 x 73.5 x 7.8 mm and weighs 155 gram.

The Lenovo S5 will be available in Midnight Black and Flame Red shades. It’s price starts from EUR 150 (approx. Rs.11,999). There is no official word on availability of handset in India yet. We will keep you updated with the latest developments. Stay Tuned !
