LG has launched it’s much anticipated flagship smartphone, G7 ThinQ and G7 ThinQ+ on Wednesday through an special event held at New York. After going through a much long series of leaks and speculations, it has finally made to the stage in two variants, however, the variants do not differ much except storage configurations. The major highlight of the launch event happens to be addition of some advance features such as facial recognition, wireless charging support, boombox speakers and IP68 rated water and dust resistance.
LG G7 ThinQ Features, Price and Availability
The LG G7 ThinQ sports a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ Full View Super Bright display with 3120 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Company is touting presence of 100 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut in display with up to 1,000 nits of brightness. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and supports Dual SIMs. It is clocked by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor with a maximum speed of 2.8GHz paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. While, the superior variant, LG G7+ ThinQ sports 6GB RAM coupled with 128GB internal storage.
The smartphone packs a centrally aligned vertical dual camera featuring double 16 megapixel lenses with f/1.6 and f/1.9 aperture respectively. On the front part, G7 ThinQ has a 8 megapixel selfie snapper with f/1.9 aperture. It is IP68 certified dust and water resistant for up to 1.5m for 30 mins. It is fueled by a 3000mAh capacity battery supported with Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging technology. Fingerprint sensor is mounted on the rear panel, while handset is also equipped with trending fast recognition technology to unlock your face.
The connectivity features on LG G7 ThinQ includes 4G VoLTE, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, USB 3.1, Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and 3.5mm headphone jack. The company went on stress that it also comes with Wireless charging support. It also supports the HDR10 standard, apart from bearing a Boombox Speaker and 7.1-channel DTS:X 3D Surround Sound support.
Interestingly, the smartphone features an extra physical button below volume buttons through which users can access Google assistant with single tap and Google Lens with double taps. The cameras of the phone supports that same AI technology which was featured in LG V30S ThinQ.
The LG G7 ThinQ Price in United Kingdom is set at GBP 649 (approx Rs. 58,800). It will be available in South Korea first followed by other regions including India. However, no specific dates are mentioned. It will be available in shades of New Platinum Gray, New Aurora Black, New Moroccan Blue and Raspberry Rose.
