Indian company said that Pro and Plus versions of Bharat 5 will also make it’s way into the market very soon and company hopes to sell approx 6 million Bharat series smartphones by the March, 2018. Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer, Micromax said on the launch that;

“Bharat 5 like its predecessors like Bharat 2, Bharat 3 and Bharat 4 will truly drive the next phase of smartphone adoption in the country, as a smartphone with 5000mAh battery is pivotal for a market like India where the tier 3-4 cities still face severe power outage issues.”

Micromax Bharat 5 got a 5.2-inch HD display with 1080 x 720 pixel screen resolution. Device runs on Android Nougat powered with 1.3 GHz quad-core processor that is clubbed with 1GB RAM. Smartphone packs 5 mega-pixel shooter at back and 5 mega-pixel sensor at the front with LED flash for both cameras. 16GB internal storage is provided that can be expanded up to 64GB with microSD card, thanks to dedicated slot on the phone. Most importantly, the feature that draws attention is 5000 mAH battery on the board and according to company, promises to 2 days usage and 3 weeks standby time.

Bharat 5 has little into it that can draw huge visitors to it except its large battery and it will rather face tough competition from Redmi 5A that is also launched this week with a very low price tag of just Rs.4,999. Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A packs all better specifications than Micromax’s Bharat 5 except the battery.

Domestic company collaborated with telecom major, Vodafone to provide some extra benefits to buyers. Vodafone will provide free 50GB data (divided as 10GB per month) for new as well as old Vodafone users and that comes on recharge of 1GB data pack. Online availability of Micromax Bharat 5 can’t be confirmed but some sellers on Amazon India listed it.
