Moto E5 will have logo over the fingerprint sensor, render leaks | Date : 16th January, 2018
The report published by Mysmartprice shows an image revealing the front and rear design of upcoming Moto E series smartphone. There is no concrete information available regarding features of smartphone as it is still in seeding phase. But, by looking at the leaked image, we can conclude several notable changes. Most note-worthy change is that fingerprint sensor is moved to the back while the predecessor had it on home button. Also, company logo is placed on the fingerprint sensor.

Image also shows single rear camera and front camera with comes with LED flash. Looks like that body is made of pure metal and handset is still using the microUSB port instead of Type-C port.
For the first Time, Moto E series might have the ‘Play’ variant on cards | Date : 11th February, 2018
After the standard variant, renders leaked for Moto E5 Play variant as well. A reputed tipster, Evan Blass took to twitter to post front side images of handset. No fingerprint sensor is visible on the front, so it should be available on the back side. He said that device will be offered by Verizon and Cricket. He tweets as

Moto E5 Plus official snapshot leaks ahead of launch | Date : 26th February, 2018
After the basic and Play variant, now ‘Plus’ variant has entered the rumour mill churning out back to back information. The leaked snapshot shows excellent glimpse of handset in light blue shade. It spill beans on several key specifications such as display with 18:9 aspect ratio with thin bezels and rounded corners. It also has a USB Type-C port and image shows dual camera setup on the rear panel. The fingerprint sensor is placed below the snappers underneath the company logo. However, Evan Blass denied the report of dual cameras.

Taking to the front panel, there are three dots on the panel, out of which two might present dual camera for selfies and one for LED flash. However, this is no clear indication what purpose these three dots actually serve? Are they for dual-tone LED flash and one selfie camera? More clear picture will be out in upcoming weeks.
Looking at the official renders leak, it can be assumed that successors of E series are already in the pipeline and expected to take stage very soon.

The rumour of availability of ‘Play’ variant in Moto E series is going concrete day by day. New leaks hints that all three variants are likely to sport dual camera setup on the rear panel. Most importantly it is claimed that E5 Plus will pop in two variants packing Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 for the first and MediaTek MT675X processor for the second. According to a twitter user, Moto E5 is said to sport a 5.5-inch HD display, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal memory, 3028mAh battery and 16 megapixel + 5 megapixel camera sensors at the back side.
Same tweet suggests that E5 Play will feature 5.2-inch display, 4000mAh battery, dual rear camera (12MP + 5MP), 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. On the other hand, Moto E5 Plus is rumoured to 5.8-inch HD+ display, dual rear camera packing 16 megapixel sensor (f/1.75 aperture) and 8 megapixel sensor (f/2.0 aperture). ‘Plus’ variant is the only one that will sport 18:9 aspect ratio and 5000mAh capacity battery.
Apart from rumored specifications, Moto E5 and E5 Play has been listed in TKDN (Indonesia) and NBTC in Thailand respectively.

The Moto E5 Plus live hands on photos emerged on the web revealing certain key features. Photos shows 18:9 aspect ratio on supposedly 5.8-inch display (720 x 1440 pixels), fingerprint sensor underneath company logo on the rear side, which has a glossy, curved glass back.
When we dive into the camera configurations, it creates a lot of confusion. Some says that there is dual camera lens on the back side while others points that there is only single camera and possibly a laser autofocus module in the second cutout as seen in image. Looks like that it has inherited its design aesthetics from Motorola Moto X4.
Moto E5 Plus hits GeekBench Benchmarks | Date : April 13, 2018
The upcoming Moto E5+ smartphone passed through the GeekBench benchmark scoring 653 for single core and 1835 for multi-cores. The test confirms that handset will run Android 8.0 Oreo and will be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM. Rest of the specs sheet is yet to be filled. For your information, this phone out performed Motorola Moto G6 Play in the same benchmark.

Lenovo-owned Motorola along side Moto G6, G6 Plus and G6 Play launched the Moto E series as well. The E series brings the entry level specifications at reasonable prices. For this group of smartphones as well, company has upgraded the displays from 16:9 aspect ratio to trending 18:9 aspect ratio, however one model out of three still relies on traditional aspect ratio. This is the first outing from the makers for the current year.
