OnePlus 5T gets camera improvements through OxygenOS 4.7.4 update

Chinese smartphone vendor, OnePlus rolled out second over-the-air (OTA) update for its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 5T. Numbered as 4.7.4 OxygenOS update brings several improvements including optimized camera User Interface, enhance quality of photos and system performance improvements. This is provided considering the early user feedback for device’ dual camera performance.

OxygenOS 4.7.4 started rolling out to users and it is sized around 285 MB. Soon it will reach out to more users as it is rolled in batches. Earlier, OnePlus rolled out 4.7.2 update for improvements in fingerprint scanning. However company does not detailed out the update and only basic information about is disclosed on the end of the company.

OnePlus 5T was launched on 15th November in two storage variants namely OnePlus 5T 6GB version and OnePlus 5T 8GB version. Within a period of less than a month, vendor has rolled out two updates makes pretty clear that company is seriously looking to users feedback.

Update 4.7.4 provides apart from bunch of camera and photo quality updates also brings out some system level performances. System level improvements include optimization for facial unlock, improvisation in audio from speaker and headphones, Wi-Fi battery usage optimizations, stability improvements in fingerprint scanning and GPS, optimization for vibration and some general bug fixes.

OnePlus’ Jimmy Z writes in a forum post that

“For those who were on previous versions for OnePlus 5T, we appreciate your active feedback and attempts to reach out to us. With your help, we have been able to better optimise and improve several key areas.”

OnePlus is reportedly working for improvements in low-light photography and selfie shots. Company is also looking to make beautification mode optional for users of OnePlus 5T. OnePlus in collaboration with Star Wars, launched OnePlus 5T star wars Edition for India and will come with updated User Interface. Android Oreo testing for the device will be done by the end of this year and will be rolled out through another update to users, says sources.
