I bought ‘Blackberry Curve 3G’ after due research and comparisons. Though the vendor I chose (Flipkart) was a very good decision, however the phone is not perfect.
I would say I am not disappointed by the phone however for the ones who are reading this review; the decision will hang on the balance between your needs and what is offered.

    1. The processor is good. Hence the phone is fast. May have to do with Airtel BB connection I have.
    2. QWERTY keypad and the keys are good. The functions on the keys are exhaustive.
    3. The Data card is sufficient.
    4. I like the interface. Is simple yet efficient. Classy font and aesthetics.
    5. The call interface is good. Exhaustive options. Like the ease and quality of conferencing.
    6. I love the touchpad feature! It makes the working so much easier and cool
    7. Network (Phone, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) are good.
    8. The email functionality and service is very good and extremely user-friendly, convenient and classy.
    9. This phone is very addictive!!
    10. It has a ‘Password Keeper’ functionality which is a God sent. Very effective!
    11. Blackberry Messenger is obviously very good!!
    12. Apps like Google phone app, Facebook and Twitter are very user-friendly, however that will be the case with Android too, so not much of a differentiator.

    1. The GPS is disappointing. B Maps never works. Even Google maps (Latitude, Foursquare, Waze and other social GPS apps) are slow. Frustrating
    2. Phone becomes slightly slow when you load more than 10 apps.
    3. ‘AppWorld’ has very limited and
    4. The camera (2 MP) is barely decent. Even the video quality is disappointing.
    5. Though it was expected the music functionality disappoints. Voice quality is good however the hands-free is not music friendly. Only call-friendly!
    6. The contacts directory is again exhaustive however there are no customizable options.
    7. I didn’t find the Word, Excel etc. functionality very comfortable.

Overall, I have given it 4-stars. This functionality suits every requirement for me except the apps part. It is a good classy and addictive phone to have. A very good and welcome change from Nokia N73.
    Buy this phone for –
    – If you want to stay connected on-the-go
    – Like classy attributes and aesthetics
    – Not prone to use many apps
    – Want to experience a rich and dignified feel
    – Obviously, Business oriented

    Positive Things:
    1. Excellent speed which never deteriorate over period of time like all other nonBB phones.
    2. Querty keypad is built-wise excellent and user friendly compared to all other Querty phones
    3. I am serving without BIS BES plan in just [email protected] with RIM GSM so don’t bother that costly BIS is must. Now those days r over. Without BIS BES also u can enjoy all apps like pushmail, gtalk, facebook, youtube, googlemaps and everything
    4. Best phone for calls – Features like conferencing, enhancing voice clarity r excellent.

    Negative Points :
    1. PC software is worst one I have seen in my life. Nokia PC Suite is best one amongst all PC software.
    2. 2MP camera is very disappointing. Picture taken r completely useless. Just for shake of saying that have still and video camera.
    3. 65k screen resolution makes screen extremely dull, u won’t like watching photo or video in it.
    4. Very limited app available in market

Conclusion : This phone is excellent for busyness people who want faster processing mobile. But poor for young generation who need mobile for entertainment purpose too.

Got this phone after a lot of deliberation and looking at Android/Apple phones in the same range. Went for the Blackberry for two main reasons:
    1. Hate a touch screen to type on
    2. Have no real need for games, since I own an Ipod Touch.

I’ve used the phone for about a month now, and I am enjoying the keypad. That being said, typing on the iPod (and iPhone) is actually quicker than BB, but an iPhone is waaay out of budget for me. All in all, I’m happy with my buy.

You should be warned though, there is a lot of compatibility issues for apps on the Blackberry AppWorld. Apps are released for a particular OS and are often unavailable for older/newer OSes, which makes zero sense. Since this doesn’t extend to the most popular apps (WhatsApp, Gtalk, Twitter, Facebook, etc) it hasn’t bugged me yet. Don’t be surprised when an App you used on your earlier BB isn’t available for this device though.

Many people now uses one or the other smart phone but do they utilize the maximum apps out of it.No,they don’t.Why many people prefer classic cars and bikes to the sporty and flashy ones? Ans is simple they don’t go out of date.It is not about BB cult or limited specs of BB but BB is one of its type which provides a fully spaced QWERTY with classy looks.Morever recent wikileaks survey shows touchscreens are more prone to hackers because virtual keyboard itself is a software. Its like More money More tension. So no more apps and classic is the Best.NEILAV KONWAR

I’d purchased this phone in October 2011 and by January 2012 it stopped working. Battery gets discharged in 2 hours after full charge and phone gets hanged for every alternate call. Sent for customer care center. After servicing the phone for more than 10days, they returned it saying that the problem is solved. Took it home and found that nothing has really changed. Executive from BB customer care says that in 3G active option the phone gets discharged in 2 hours. DON’T EVEN THINK TO GO FOR BLACKBERRY FOR A FRACTION OF A SECOND. Basically people at BB think that consumers are Idiots. Never, never, never, never go for blackberry.

    Hi Friends,
I have used this phone for over a week now and am very much happy with the features and facilities. BB messanger is the star and if you want to be connected with your friends and business associates, no one can beat BB. Since this is my first BB phone I cannot compare it with other BB phones, but this one is a delight to use.
Just one work of causion, the updated model of this phone has OS 6 preinstalled. Just emsure that you get the latest OS (and not OS5). For you information I have not purchased this phone from flipkart since I prefer to shop valuables after physically verifying its contents first, however 100/ 100 to the phone though….

My first BB in a long time, I was very glad to see its overall functionality. It came preinstalled with many of the messengers apps (yahoo, gmail, AOL, etc) and was a delight to use. Although I moved on to Bold 3 few months after buying the curve 3G, the phone always felt better to use. Read a review of someone criticising and comparing the phone with Android OS and all i can say is, if you are a BB fan then it doesnt matter what the Androids do, you would always remain a BB fan. Personally its not like that I dont like the Android OS, but to compare two different OS and hardware is pure dumbness according to me. All phones have their own USPs and a BB is something i would always prefer over anything else just like many of you would prefer other makes !

The phone is good, light and is more than enough for everyday use.

I got this phone recently but to my dismay the OS got crashed twice. It’s throwing error “Appn error 523” , because of this I am unable to use it. The other problem is it hangs whenever there is fluctuation in wireless coverage. The only way out is to remove the battery and restart the phone. I see lot of hype abt BB and I dont hold a good opinion now about it. Quality wise they are similar to cheap chinese phone. I am really disappointed.
