This is major letdown.. been waiting for this for a long long time ,disappointed, been holding up my purchase of Xperia S but now it is a no brainer..

    1. This model is the inferior version with the S3 processor overclocked to 1.7Ghz along with the Adreno 220 GPU instead of the advanced and more power efficient Krait S4 processor with Adreno 225 GPU. This one is same as on the Sensation XE, just overclocked by 200 MHz. The Sensation already has pathetic battery life. Did they really think that overclocking an inferior processor you can make it sound better :-S..

It is really weird that international version comes with S4 and Asian version with S3 and that also means that there may be either none at all or very few custom roms for this hardware :-|, which at least for me a major reason for buying android..

    2. At abt 3k more you can get the big brother OneX… still do not understand why price this so high.. if you wanted to just kill it, why even bother to launch?

    3. For 3k less you can get Xperia S with bravia engine and 1280X720 display and 12MP camera, 32 GB storage.. better front camera, NFC, separate HMDI, and GLONASS.. and yes.. it will get the ICS soon enough..

    4. for even less you can get Galaxy S2.

This is more like Sensation repackaged and being sold at premium.. only positive I see about this phone is ICS out of the box and Sense 4.. and ICS will be available for most dual core phones soon enough if it is not already there.. so that just leaves Sense 4.. so the question does Sense UI commands that much premium?

    Facts:
    1) HTC One S (the Indian variant) ships with a dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor (Scorpion), alongwith an Adreno 220 GPU, instead of the international version, which has a dual-core Snapdragon S4 (Krait) processor and an Adreno 225 GPU. For comparison’s sake, the dual-core S4 processor is even better than the quad-core processors on the Galaxy S3 and the HTC One X , and the Adreno 225 GPU offers 4 times better graphical performance than the Adreno 220.

    2) The HTC One S is being launched for around 33000 rupees. Literally a joke by HTC. For 34k, one can purchase the HTC One X online. Also, it offers nothing new to the table in terms of features. Do not go by video reviews of this phone, as they are probably of the international version, so expect the Indian one to have major issues in terms of performance.

    3) The battery on this phone is very average (1650mA), though the Krait processor’s excellent efficiency was the reason for the smaller number. But by using the Scorpion Processor in the Indian variant, expect the battery life to be very measly.

    4) HTC’s major intention of pricing this phone so high is that it wants to establish itself as a “Premium Brand”. That by trying to fool Indian shoppers by offering them inferior products.

Honestly, I’m shocked HTC is even considering releasing this phone in the Indian market, without any information on the lower quality processor or the GPU. Even its official website mentions that the Processor is a “Dual-core 1.7 GHz processor”, cleverly forgetting to mention the generation of processor (S3).

The least HTC can do is inform the people whether they can atleast expect the Indian Market to get the newer generation chipset in the One S at a later stage.

Guys if u don’t know anything please don’t misguide others. Its a beauty to hold this phone. Camera is gud too.
Coming to the S3 chipset its still not as old as u all who r commenting so chill. Its can easily handle all the apps u throw on it. Coming to the heating of phone its normal ok and its in S4 chipset version also. This is because of the inbuilt battery. But nothing to worry.
The phone is really a good phone at least much much better than Xperia S. I had seen the benchmark test nd clearly the winner is HTC One S.
I had been using this phone from past 4 days nd believe me a real hardcore gamer. It plays every game at its par…
Looking for a sleek phone and powerful phone this is a must choice………..

This is Probably the most underrated phone at Flipkart.

When this phone was launched at 33k and the S4 processor not available in india made it receive all the negative comments.
This phone is an amazing steal at the current price of just 25.5k

There is no phone in this price range that beats this phone in features or technology. (Including the pencil box looking S2).

The unibody metal finish with the slim looks makes it the pick of the lot.

I’ve been using this phone for about a month now and it is flawless. Battery lasts for about 12 hours (use Juice Defender app)
    Gaming – 20 mins
FB and gmail – 40 mins
    Call – 30 mins
    Browsing – 30 mins.

The other aspect reviews are already available enough here.

Buy it and you’ll come back with a review encouraging others to buy this.

HTC One S is my 2nd HTC Android mobile phone and it impresses me yet again. Btw the 1st point I want to notify that I am using an Europian T Mobile phone with 1.5 S4 Qualcomm processor.
I am pretty satisfied with it..rather happy 🙂
    Design:
Wonderful Unibody Aluminium finish. Better then any phone I have put in my palm. It is so very light and thin, that I was afraid that it would slip out of my hands.. and I am serious about it. 🙂 … It beats away every other phone around and even the ones that are ahead in Price and Performance.

    Performance:
Very good again. I am using the phone for a week now and havnt experienced any lag so far. The update from HTC Sense 4.0 to 4.1 and Android ICS 4.0.4 has added flowers to the tapestry. Its got even smoother and the battery backup pushed ahead as well. It has enough power to run any game around with very good graphics.

    Multimedia:
The Beats Audio is good and you can definitely tell the difference when you your ear plugs on. Video quality is satisfactory as not and HD display. Watching music is good though and u can set the screen size to fit the video resolutions.

    Camera:
It has a 2.0f 8MP camera which does a very good job. U will njoy the burst mode and shooting pictures with the video recording in progress (it does help alot). Not the best, but good enough.

    Display:
It has a Super AMOLED screen. The touch response is really good and with HTC’s Sense, you really njoy moving around the phone. The words re-adjusting to make it to the screen does help a lot while reading webpages. Sunlight display is not that good as SLCD but it does not disapoint either. Viewing angels are very good.

    Battery:
Before I updated to Sense 4.1, I was a little worried about the battery life. But since day before yesterday it is really doing good. Today I left out at 10. I did use around
    1 hr of audio Music.
    15 picture shots
    10 min of video recording
1 to 1.5 hr of call
    40 mins of gaming
a few webpages and whatapps chats. and a couple of thngs I cant recall.
But after all this, I am still left with 25% of battery at 21:36 at night. Very impressive.

    Overall, a very good phone.
I did not purchase from Flipkart, but wanted to help other people make choices from my experience.

    Its Quietly Brilliant.

    –Thanks
    Rahul

though initially priced at 33k now its 25k which justify .
    features to bother-
    1. if u are worried about 1.7ghz s3,why not 1.5 ghz s4 processor, believe me u wont notice any difference unless u have used later one
    2. battery life is not bad, 1.7ghz manages to keep it running for a day on continuous usage, just keep track of background process
    3. camera is best u could get at 25k with htc image chip, no shutter lag, fast yaah
    4. 1 gb of ram out of which u get about 500mb free, next update sense 4.1 will resolve this issue( battery will be improved)
5.worried about no sd card, believe me i was too, but when i got this phone i got 9gb free and 2.2gb for apps which can be stored on its 9gb as well, the phone is blazingly fast because of its own flash storage, upto 16x faster than sd card so even 9gb can be used wisely and its faster than sd card
    6. last but not the least dont compare with samsung, if u have used samsung’s user interface, taste “”htc sense”” and i bet u will never switch back to any phone except htc!
    i bought from snapdeal!

why did they price it at almost equal to galaxy s3 and one x.
alson it has a inferior processor and gpu than the international version. dont get fooled by the 1.7 ghz tag, its an inferior cpu which is overclocked. also the display is qhd with pentile matrix.
pentile matrix wouldn’t have bothered me if it were a 25-27k phone but at this price tag it is a rip off.
galaxy note has similar configration bigger and better screen, s-pen but then also cheaper.
Atrix-2 has same screen(same pixle layout and ppi) but its display is lcd so it’s 2mm thicker but with bigger battery, cpu is 1ghz dual core but its the same cpu and gpu which one finds in samsung galaxy s2(s2 is overclocked at 1.2 ghz) and the most important part is that atrix 2 is 12k cheaper than one s.
yes, htc one s looks awesome, beautiful, just about the best looking phone in market but…
1.but it’s not quad core so one can’t say that its future-proof like one x or s3.
    2.just 2k cheaper than one x and s3
3.body is slippery, as i have read in some reviews.
4.sense-4 skin of htc is not class leading a.l.a original android or samsung’s skin.
5.processor is battery guzzler and battery is also just 1650 mAh.
    6.screen is just qhd
7.fixed 16 gb memory(its enough for me, but freedom is better than Apple like authoritarian attitude- we think 16 gb is enough for you people- one s has a small openable back cover where the sim goes, so i dont see any reason that why a memory slot could not integrated there.
8.s2 is still a good phone as there are no apps that can’t run on 1.2 ghz dual core and there won’t be much as andriod runs on 600 mhz to 1.7 ghz phones, any app developer would want to tap the larger market which comprises of 600mhz to 1.2ghz.

If this phone was around 30k i would have definitively bought it just because it looks awesomeee… but for me the critical point is that they are ripping-off, scamming, conning the indian consumers by providing inferior cpu and gpu. it’s out of my grasp that why would htc do this, it’s not leading seller of smartphone in India, so it do not have the leverage to overprice like Apple and Samsung.
I think I will settle for galaxy note.

    whatever u folks say..i have raped my phone with every heavy game n app…n guess what…NO LAG..so i don’t care if it’s S3 or S4..i’m loving it..gr8 looks..nice camera n yes it feels good to hold it…go, buy readers…;) 🙂
