17 reviews for Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Note : **Some of the reviews are picked from flipkart, Amazon and other e-stores.

  1. Rated 1 out of 5

With a spate of manufacturers launching high-end devices, the focus has fallen on the pricing policy followed by them. While part of it could be attributed to the rupees weak health but what really justifies buying a phone worth Rs. 50,000?

With most high-end devices costing north of the 40k mark, does it really make sense to invest such hefty amount on just a phone?

    Samsung Galaxy Note 3 : Rs. 49, 990
    Sony Xperia Z1 : Rs 43, 000
    iPhone 5S : Rs 50, 000

Most phones can get most jobs done without batting an eyelid. But these so called flagships are being repackaged with a better processor, an improved camera and usually a feature that is touted by the company as a killer feature. It is simply just so hyped to exploit us I believe.

Truth is these phones will be replaced within twelve months by the same company reselling a new killer feature.

Galaxy S4 was so talked about and termed revolutionary – “made to break all performance records with its Octa-Cores”. Well we now know it wasn’t at all true but a marketing gimmick and what it actually did break was our trust. Ask yourselves, was it morally right to cheat and mislead consumers like that ? Samsung should have been pulled to the courts. On quite a contrary, S4 not only aged quickly but has been dethroned by other new heavy weights like the xperia Z1 and lg G2. Launched in april, the sensation of S4 was such short lived.

Now, here’s an evidence that these companies only want to loot your money, to hell with your experience with the device. Absolutely shocking to see the double standards of samsung towards indians! A snapdragon 800 chipset for the western world and a totally different exynos offering to maximize profits in the indian markets. Well, Its a cry shame samsung, you disgust us.

Note 3 by no means is an offering really worth investing the 50k for a few enhancements and a faux leather back.

These manufacturers will ensure that their device is in the news, throwing around buzzwords and grand terms like revolutionary. In an environment like this, it is tough to separate noise from the signal.

I wouldn’t be buying a phone costing more than Rs30,000 now. And neither should you. If you’d really like to get a fancy device, wait for a couple of months for the inevitable price drop. Investing such a significant chunk of money on a device that might be called outdated within a couple of months is just not worth it.

I have ordered a new Note 3 and received a imported used piece with pictures taken from it that too a year ago. Do not take any products from flipkart as these people are selling products like these.

Like product the customer service is also worst. They do not understand the customer’s issue and would extend time for replacement of the product again and again. I have taken the product on 21st November and they did not replaced my product till now.

I would like to give -5 star as these people worth so.

    Day 1:
It’s been a day since I have this phone and this is what I think of the product.
When playing games on the device it tends to get HOT after 15 min of game play, the volume button and power get really hot after 30 min of play time
The phone with 100% change got switched off in just 5 hours of usage
Every time before switching the screen off I have to end all tasks just to keep it working as the RAM usage was showing 1.78GB all the time. Even when I have nothing on except the power saver option it has a RAM usage of 1.33GB

Samsung needs to send a software update for this soon or else its back to the Note 2

    Giving this device 3 stars

Day 2: Tuns of software issues with the new software, ,most of all, I CANT ACCESS MY CONTACT LIST ANY MORE

    Giving this device 2 stars

  4. Rated 1 out of 5

    Hi,

Samsung has made 3 models of Note 3. The least model of Octa core Exynos processor is supplied in India and the rest 2 models is not released in India. Why Samsung has done this and what Samsung takes Indian market clearly reflected with the release of this old dum technology model of Note 3.

Btw FYI, the models available in Big Showrooms is N9005 (model with Snapdragon chipset) and when you will go for buying it is actually N9000 model (Exynos processor). Even the assisting persons do not know which model they have kept for display ..LOL… so guys think twice before you buy note 3.

  5. Rated 2 out of 5

First of all this isn’t 4G LTE version so Airtel is already giving 4G at nice rates slightly higher than 3G but you can’t enjoy it. You gonna need to upgrade to other phone quickly.

Processor is exynos and not Snapdragon (Snapdragon is having better GPU performance about factor 1/4)

I guess Samsung needs to be reminded that we are IT freaks and have lots of money to buy their smart phones so they should make them available in India as well. I wonder they can manufacture smart phones but can’t make smart decisions.

I will simply consider it as cheating, two versions available under same name but we just got name we own note3 but in reality we got least available version of note3

  6. Rated 4 out of 5

I bought it from a physical store and not from Flipkart. My model says SM-N900 which came preloaded with KitKat 4.4.2. I switched my wi-fi and got two updates over 4.4.2, performance and security related updates. First of all, I would like to say that there are many writing reviews for anything who do not have real experience with that product at all. Just by analyzing statistics and online stuff, many, are writing reviews. One issue/review I was reading here said that the call sound is low. Actually, it the volume is really low but after consulting with a friend who is a Samsung Engineer, i learnt that the makers have tried to make this product biologically friendly as much as possible. Does that mean we have to strain our ears for listening lower volumes on call? The answer is no, there is a button in a ‘connected’ call screen which says enhance sound. Press it, and yes, now you get calls quite loud. So, basically, there are umpteenth features which are there in the phone but many people choose not to explore. For example, there is an excellent thought by the makers to address issues related to the big size of the phone and handling. So, by the use of a simple gesture, the phone screen can be made to go smaller, yes, you heard it right, the entire big screen display gets concentrated in a 4-inch display which can be aligned according to left or right hand. It’s an immensely useful feature. Blazing fast processor and huge RAM makes running resource intensive apps a delight. Those who write about those make and that make, this core and that core, snapdragon or ‘fire-breathing’ dragon, admit it, human brains can’t conceive those tiny ms lapses in the processor, if any. So, all those techno babble found on the net and shared likewise by some ‘reviewers’ are ultimately too hypocritic and loose.
The Air gesture is superb, and so is the amazing amount of tasks that can be done by the s-pen. The get-up of the phone is great with narrow bezel and chrome edge, and looks premium. The battery backup is quite good. If someone says that the battery is bad, then surely they mismanage their phone. Another highlighting point is the camera, 13 mp, fine Xiaomi also gives that, but this phone’s camera is great, the HDR is mindblowing and the aperture is also great. The night pictures were a revelation as people who have seen those pics of mine, agreed instantly that this is the best they have seen. Just for information, those friends all use phones of varied make and varied price from 10,000 and up..also, as i am a enthusiastic photographer, I myself use a good DSLR, no phone camera can give you a DSLR freedom and sensor, megapixels don’t define a good picture quality, trust me. So, 5 mp can also be better than a 13 mp, but this have one of the best ‘camera’ in any phones of current Indian market .
The con issue I found is however, found in many reviewers note that it gets heated, but unlike long time calling, my phone gets heated if you play resource intensive games for about 15 minutes.

The samsung mobiles are popular in india from past some years & all other past most of samsung phones are good in price range , performance & affordable but i think this one disappoint lot with price & its less features. Lets see some comparision of 3 best smartphones in current time like samsung’s NOTE 3 vs sony xperia Z1 vs Sony xperia z ULTRA

    1) First comapre sizes , Xperia z ultra has 6.4 inches huge screen , which looks like tablet or phablet. Now come to galaxy note 3 , which has 5.7 inches screen which is still huge as smartphone But come to Xperia Z1 has perfect 5 inches full hd screen with adreno 330 graphics , looks complete handy & comfortable as smartphone.

    2) Come to all android section , all 3 phones is android & both Xperia phones has android 4.2 jellybean & Galaxy note 3 has 4.3 jellybean , So no major difference in that & another thing is that all 3 phones are come with single micro sim.

    3) Come to important processor section Galaxy note 3 come with 1.9Ghz Big core quad processor + 1.3Ghz small core quad processor which is still costly in price range of 48k & it’s ok. Come to xperia Z1 & Ultra both has 2.2Ghz qualcomm snapdragon 800 , quad core processor which is best of best processor of current time.

    4) Come to bettery section Xperia Z1 has 3000Mah bettery which gives good bettery backup , Xperia ultra has 3050Mh bettery & Galaxy note 3 has 3200Mah bettery So all 3 smartphones has amazing bettery backup.

    5) Come to most important screen & camera section , All 3 phones come with full hd display but both sony’s phone with dust proof & waterproof So its huge advantage.

=> Come to camera of Xperia Z1 beats all , come with 20.7 megapixles , full hd shooting & Secondary camera of 2 megapixles , another best thing is Sony G lens , video & image stabiliser & You can broadcast your videos live on facebook & get live comments from friends & Underwater shooting & many more unbeatable features.
=> Sony xperia Z ultra has 8 megapixles primary camera & 2 megpx secondary camera . Primary camera of 8 mpx which is disappointing , it’s not bad but atleast compare with its price of 40k , it needs atleast 13 megapixles camera. // Galaxy note 3 has 13 megapixles primary camera & 2 mpx secondary camera camera which is good as samsung company phones.

    6) Other features like 2 Gb ram & 16Gb storage in sony & 32Gb storage & 3Gb ram in samsung is ONLY advantage but i dont think it’s a big deal at all. Other important sensors , Full hd video support & lot of things are best in sony & samsung both. Samsung’s 50k price’s one thing you’ll get is S pen , but my lot of friend has other S pen phones of samsung but they never use it , only handy touch is best.

At the end , In my point of view , if you go with Xperia Z1 in price of 42k instead of less features note 3 in price of 48k , you’ll surely get no regret. Choice is yours. Thats it !!!!!

Guys all of you who plan to buy these “Samsung Flagship” phones please ask yourself this question: Why is Samsung selling SNAPDRAGON 800 Chip for the customers in the west and why sell us a cheaper and inferior “EXYNOS” chip in India.

This guys when Samsung charges us the exact dollar conversion price for its flagship phones. Surely we Indian customers deserve better.

If you sell us a cheaper and inferior product then say so upfront and accordingly charge your price. But trying to keep the name of the phone same as in the international market and fitting it with crap inside and charging the international price from Indian customers is not just unethical but – thievery, plain and simple.

Wake up Samsung, these double standards may well be the beginning of the end for you.
Learn to respect one of your biggest markets.

  9. Rated 5 out of 5

First of all, people who have not bought this phone, please shut up. You are in no position to judge the product or the people who buy it. Samsung has not forced you to buy this phone and neither have they forced you people to give your opinion. You people need to get a life and use whatever phone you find good. Four things must be clear:

    a) If you think about money, do not think of buying this or any premium smartphone.
    b) If size is a problem, this phone is not for you.
    c) If you love the concept of the Note series, the Note 3 is the absolute king and for people who actually understand the phone and related specs, it is worth every rupee.
    d) For morons who believe they are more technologically advanced than the entire Samsung R&D department, they are working on a software tweak what will allow all 8 cores to work simultaneously. This update will be rolled out before 2014. So, when they say octa-core, they will ensure that all cores will be working.

    Now on to the review:

    Hardware:

    1) The look of the phone is gorgeous and feels solid and premium in the hand. There is a marked difference in operating the note 2 and the note 3 (I had a note 2 before a note 3).

    2) The camera is above average but not breath-takingly clear (though Samsung has promised to resolve this in an update). The S-orb feature is particularly innovative.

    3) The speaker is ok, but for music, please use headphones.

    4) The S-pen is a marvel and it has become the backbone of the phone rather than a gimmick. Its versatility is what gives the Note 3 the edge over other phones like the Z ultra or One max.

    5) Personally, I would take the option of a removable battery any day instead of having a metal or glass unibody. But this is a personal choice.

    Software:

    1) Jellybean 4.3 is super slick and better looking than its earlier version. This, along with a powerful processor, results in completely lag-free operation.

    2) The multi-tasking tools are actually more useful than one might think. Pen window and drag and drop are especially useful in daily activities.

    3) Samsung has added a few nice touches to this latest iteration of touchwiz, and though largely it is the same, the difference is there to be seen.

    Pros:
    Ultra high quality display
    Thin and light-weight
    Great camera
    Premium(ish) feel
    S-pen
    Android JB 4.3

    Cons:
Tends to overheat a bit with heavy use (but an update is on its way to rectify this according to sammobile).
A bit big for one handed operation (there is a mode to reduce screen size for this purpose)
A bit too big to hold up to the ear while talking.

I hope this review helps people decide whether to buy this device or not. But one thing is clear, this is a niche product (cost-wise and size-wise) and is NOT meant for everyone. No one is holding a gun to peoples’ heads and forcing them to buy this. And I am also sure that people will exhaustively review the phone before investing 50,000 in it, so the buyers will be educated and well-informed. If they still want to buy it, that proves that the phone is worth it.

  10. Rated 5 out of 5

Expensive, but worth the buy. The S pen is amazing, once you’re aware of all the features & apps, you can sync it all together & never use pen & paper again.
The phone has a lot to offer, but if it doesn’t match your needs or requirements and especially if you are unaware of its features (that you can’t always know just by reading the specs)…. It will seem to be a waste.
Only buy if the features help ease u our life.
