45 reviews for Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo
Note : **Some of the reviews are picked from flipkart, Amazon and other e-stores.

  1. Rated 5 out of 5

This phone offers incredible value for money !!!!

    These are the highlights :

    1. Gorgeous 5.5.” Super Amoled display, 720p display looks very crisp and sharp.

    2. S-Pen : This alone makes it a phone worth the money – Samsung gives feature rich software to unleash the capabilities of S-pen. The S-pen works flawlessly, its almost like working with paper on a page, but better.
2.1 Galaxy Sketch : This piece of software from Autodesk works so nicely with S-Pen, you have all the pencils, brushes, sprays, tools at your disposal. Multilayers to work with and it all comes free with your phone. Just Brilliant!
2.2 Action Memo : Great feature to note anything on the fly.
2.3 Scrapbooker : Extremely handy if you like saving something you like on a webpage, you can also include your own handwritten notes along with it. Awesome..!!

    3. Hexacore processor + Mali GPU : Deliver superb performance, No stutters lags whatsover, Playing games is wonderful experience on this phone. Watching any multimedia content makes you immerse into the screen and you forget that you are watching on your mobile.

    4. Touchwiz : There are many skeptics who feel that touchwiz is bloated with unnecessary apps, but trust me I have used stock android and a million other roms on my Galaxy S 2. Touchwiz offers superb functionality, with minimal memory usage and great battery life. I found the interface very neat and beautiful. I especially love the lockscreen. The colours are just amazing.

    5. Battery Life : The battery-life on this phone is just through the roof. Currently you will not find this kind of battery performance with any other phone, not even note 3. Note 3 has 100 mah extra but it has a more power hungry processor and a higher resolution screen. It last a day of heavy usage with plenty to spare.

    6. Reading/Net Surfing: Gsmarena has declared this the fastest phone ever when it comes to rendering web pages. I could test this out, as we already have limited internet speed. However, reading on this gorgeous display is a treat. Specially with the chrome browser, you get the whole screen and it gives a very comfortable reading experience.

    7. Camera: The 8 megapixel camera on this phone offers incredible detail and is easily the best in its class. Heck, it even challenges cameras in 13 MP range. The camera app is fully featured and offers tons of functionality. Even low light performance is respectable. (Samsung has worked on this, their cameras usually have poor low light performance).

Kitkat Update : The update is in works and will roll out soon.

    What does it lack ?

The only thing that I would have liked this phone to have is Gorilla Glass. But you can always use scratch guards. Heck, I have even seen people use scratch guards on Gorilla Glass. So, if your are one of them, this shouldn’t bother you.

The community support on xda developers is very limited as this phone was launched at a price which was very close to Note 3, so very few people bought it. But, I am glad that Samsung dropped the price and it is a steal in this price range.

Accessories : for this phone are quite limited, but you can find the essentials like S-view cover, Ncase bumper, and screen guard. So, this was not an issue for me.

PS >> Please don’t pay much attention to the reviews of people who are neither certified buyers, nor have purchased the phone from anywhere else. They just come and give pathetic rating without having any knowledge about the phone.

I have updated my samsung Note 3 neo to kitkat (4.4.2). and my bad time started.
screen mirroring not working, auto brightness not working, display is not having clarity and many more problems.
i have visited to samsung repair center. they have once again updated my mobile software but after update they don’t have proper equipment to verify that my screen mirroring is working or not….
then i talk to samsung customer support…. after 10 to 12 calls and 15 days pursuing the answer i got from samsung that they cannot roll back the software, cannot give me replacement of mobile and i just have to wait for for the new binary updates. and they them self don’t know when the update will come…..
so i am stuck with this sick kitkat updated note 3 neo
i suggest you don’t update your mobile to kitkat.

  3. Rated 5 out of 5

I was using Note 2 before and wanted to upgrade to next iteration of Note series. Unfortunately, I couldn’t afford the exorbitant rates of Note 3 so I was looking for alternatives.

Then I came across Note 3 Neo. I saw all the reviews and went through lot of youtube videos before purchasing and after using for last few months I am extremely satisfied with the performance of Note 3 Neo

I am using Android 4.3. I didn’t upgrade to kitkat and don’t think that is a good idea for now due to SD Card issues.

    1) Battery life – It is EXCELLENT! nothing can compete this mobile in battery life.
I was getting 5 and half hours Screen on time in the beginning in 4 days usages. From then onwards it just got better and better. Now I am getting close to 10 hours Screen on time in 2 and half days (60 hours). Note 3 Neo is a beast.
I achieved all this without power saving , without flight mode, without auto brightness.
I watch videos, read books, play some puzzle games, browse websites, file transfer, voice calls, bluetooth, You can check in Xda developers website where we post our battery results. There are many many happy customers like me over there. I am basically Android troubleshooter so I have tweaked some settings to get the best out of Note 3 Neo. Everything is well documented in XDA developers website. All this was achieved with Stock ROM.

    2) No overheating, No hardware problems at all. I have played few games but I am not a hard core gamer.

    3) Fast charging – Battery charges extremely fast. It takes little more than an hour to get the charging done to 100% which is fantastic.

    4) S-pen and other software’s are fantastic. For those who like to sketch and write Note 3 Neo is perfect. Even if you don’t use S-pen still the phone itself is a beast.

    5) Phone performance is very smooth without any lag whatsoever.

    6) Camera is fantastic and takes some amazing pictures with no lag.

    7) Music – This is where I felt the volume could have been bit higher. But its ok we have equalizers to get it done.

    8) I had few problems with flip kart courier service with the delivery even though product came to my city quickly. They failed to deliver it faster. That is the only blip. Flipkart customer service was good and responsive.

Overall, this phone without a doubt is excellent upgrade from Note 2 and its battery life is Excellent and best as of now. Check XDA developers for all the information.
I would definitely recommend everyone who is looking for a phone that is decent upgrade from Note 2. I took time to review this product because I wanted to test it thoroughly before writing the review here for other potential buyers. After 3 months of usage I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. Go ahead and purchase it if it is in the range of 27k or less.

Best Phone at this price…Bought it on 19th November…So far the best B’day gift

After 12 days of use i can say that my money was very well spent.

Now coming to the pros and cons…

    1) Processor : Hexacore processor with 2 gb ram its Incredably fast…it can handle heavy games with ease…

    2) Battery : Standout feature of the phone…Battery life even with constant net usage, videos, gaming…it can last 1.5 days easily. So with moderate usage it can almost 2 days.

    3) S-pen : It is quite a useful tool for smart selection and to make immediate notes.

    4) Camera : Quality impressive in day light…in low light flash is powerful enough. It fulfills the requirement.

    5) Display : Amazing clarity…nice colour saturation…with 720p display and 267ppi no pixelation is noticed.

Note : Its does comes with a gorilla glass 2. Ask the dealer to show how a gorilla glass works. It will prove.

    6) Software : The phone comes with a kitkat update so no problems now. Excited for the lollipop upgrade though.

    7) Speakers and Audio Quality : Speaker is at the bottom right corner so its not that bad but bit low…Headphones sound is good enough…no complaints for headphones.

    1) Not much…There is a minor lag sometimes but its just unnoticable.

Apart from that its just a awesome phone at this price range.

When i finalised the phone the store executive came and started promoting HTC 820 even after i told him that i don’t want to buy…may be for some more incentives…

Its features are really impressive but still with 4g and 2600 mah battery and 64 bit processor phone will work smoothly but the way it will drain battery at a very fast. Not more than 1 day. Also at the moment 4g is expensive and less available.HTC is a gr8 brand but against note series it gets defeated in battery department and camera is also good for samsung…its just the megapixel difference…

Htc 820 also has some serious heating problems…So overall it edges over HTC 820

So guys spend your hard earned money wisely…You will get more than the features you want if 4g and camera is not your priority…

I am a one time hater for samsung but their note series is quite a usefull package…

Please tell me know if you find my review helpful…

    Hello Geniuses!

    1) Don’t compare it to Note 2. It leaves note 2 in dust in almost everything. Its a real hexa core device, not upto Snapdragon 800 standards, but still able to hold out on its own as all 6 cores can work simultaneously.

    2) There is no lag on the device, don’t make assumptions just by looking at the spec sheet. Any device with 2 Cortex A15s is easily able to pump out enough juice to get android working smoothly, let alone 4 Cortex A7s joining it.

    3) Due to lower resolution, the device gives exact same battery life of real Note 3 (74 Hrs with 1 hour of browsing, video watching, calling per day).

    4) Also the gaming benchmarks EXCEED original Note 3, mainly because of the beefy GPU (Mali T624 can handle 720p resolution at breakneck speeds). Note 3 (1080p) gives 24 FPS in TRex and Note 3 Neo gives 25 on-screen. In Epic Citadel, Neo again tops Note 3 by 2 FPS (49 vs 47).

So the only downsides of Neo are 720p display, and lack of 4K video recording. 720p display is a blessing in disguise actually, its reasonably sharp (Damn, its a Super AMOLED) with punchy saturation at 267 PPI. Not upto Retina standards but still its very decent even for power users. Besides lower resolution display is much less of a hog on both battery and GPU, due to which they both give exceptional performance while keeping the costs down.

Also, 4K video recording is probably of no use for anyone buying Neo as someone who can not shell out another 6K for Note 3 isn’t likely to have a 4K television at home either, 1080p is exceptionally sharp for almost all occasions and 8 MP snapper is more than enough for anyone but a photographer. Remember, in still shots, its not megapixels which determine quality (they determine size), its the quality of sensor which does and thankfully, Neo’s camera quality is pretty good.

So stop comparing Neo with Note 2. It blows away Note 2 in literally everything. Both are in different leagues and hence the price difference is there.

If you want an estimation of raw performance (gaming, snappy navigation), never go on specs, always look for benchmarks of that particular smartphone. Then make a point about its power. Note 3 Neo is a Note 3 sans a few blings which result in lesser price and I think its reasonable enough.

Edit – Before comparing it to LG G2 / Nexus 5 / Z1, remember, they do not have that S Pen. Its not a fancy bling, but a highly useful tool for a lot of people, mostly professionals…. Also, as far as the status symbol is concerned, Nexus 5 / LG G2 won’t get you as much attention as anything related to a Note 3 will. In India, Note line rules and gives one a lot of respect.

Got this phone a few days back at the local Samsung store.

I was looking at the following phones before i got this.
    – MotoG, Motox
    – Nexus 5
    – Sony Xperia Z
    – Samsung Note 2
    – Samsung S4
    – Iphone 4s

Finally decided to go for the Note 3 – Neo…
Exchanged my old smart phone (3yr old HTC Sensation) and got about 5k knocked off from MRP of 34k.

Definitely worth buying, if you are looking for a big sceen, long battery life phone thats not only fast but has unique features like the S-Pen. (Handwriting recognition is incredible.. I have one of the worst hand writings.. and this device recognizes all the words!)

    When comparing with Note 3…
There are big differences like RAM, Core, 1080p display and 13mp camera. (Thats where the extra 10 to 12k is) but its way better than Note 2, on all aspects!
So its closer to a Note3 than a Note 2

    The Positives
    – Large screen.. 720p – Bright
    – Very light!
    – Get about 36hrs – Medium Usage
    – Fast – Boots up in 2sec
    – Spen features are awesome
    – Multi Window feature is very useful, when you are working with 2 apps, you dont need to keep switching between them
    – Also has google now and other voice command features.. im not a huge fan of this.. but just letting you know

    The Negatives
    – well.. havent come across any so far….

Its definitely worth the 29k i spent… If you have an outdated smartphone – go for this, you wont regret!

I orderded a white colour of the note 3 neo as i researched a lot on this phone,
The delivery was quick but when i opened the package the mobile was like full of dust and the screen film was dusty as if someone has removed the film many times and then stickd it, was really upset with the product, then i booted to see wether it is a defective product my mind was concious though evrything was working fine only the battery was draining too fast this was not as per my research it should stay long ……really upset the battery pouch was also like someone has used it ……Flipkart one day snapdeal is gonnna overtake u for sure u are loosing faith of your customers.

    > Good looking and sleek: Having used their first ever galaxy and xperia p i can say this is a better looking phone from samsung.. faux leather finish and bezel look and feel good albeit not premium

    > Amazing Battery Life: With my regular usage where my xperia p failed to last a day at work,. this squeezes up to 35 hours.. mind you my usage isnt that great but my network provider sucks which means my phone does a lot of work behind the scenes to get hold of network, all day. With normal day to day usage it still lasts close to 25 hours for me which, even in the age of portable chargers and wireless charges, is a boon

    > Good screen: No need to complain based on specs on paper. At 720p and 267ppi this screen still does the job well, even in sunlight. Its by virtue of this 720p that battery stays longer and even for a 5.5 inch screen this is MORE THAN ENOUGH.

    > S Pen: Total delight, looks and feels good, functionality is excellent. With a little bit of usage youll understand how tactile and handy it can be for certain functions.

    > Extendable memory and Removable Battery: With a lot of phones looking to slim down , im glad note 3 neo boasts both these features while still being pretty lightweight and slim in its own.

    >Pricing: What was once a con has now been turned into a pro with samsung drastically reducing its price.

    > Camera: Though not a con at all, i was hoping for a camera with a higher resolution. Also, front camera couldve been better even though im not complaining one bit.

    > Bloatware: Samsung comes with its share of bloatware, and even though some apps like Watchon, Link, S Note, Story Album, Scrap Book, etc. are extremely handy at times, a lot of people would prefer a phone without bloatware.

    > Accessories: Until recently there was not even an S View cover. A downgraded version of one of their flagship range of devices and Samsung has no accessories yet, which is poor.

All in all im glad i didnt go for Nexus 5 which is an amazing phone in itself. Im not commenting on the processor or the chipset because im no hardcore gamer (i dont believe phones are for gaming but hey thats me) Gladly recommend this phone for ones looking for a big screen, plenty of battery, regular camera and excellent functionality.

  9. Rated 4 out of 5

The Note 3 Neo is quite frankly a reworked Note 2 which has been repackaged to look classy not to mention feel lighter. I have divided my review into pros and cons,

    1. Beautiful Design – Sleek, “Leather” back
    2. Lightweight when compared to the Note 2
    3. Note 3 UI gave it almost all the features available on the Note 3
    4. Good Battery Life – i got a day with moderate usage and 12 hours of 3g/wifi
    5. Good hardware to last you (i guess) two years without feeling the need to upgrade. All the latest phones still come with 2GB RAM, all be it the processor is not as capable when compared to Snapdragon 800/801
    6. MY FAVOURITE and the reason for me buying this phone, the S Pen. I love what it can do and feel its an ideal partner to those who scribble, make presentations, attend meetings or anything that makes you feel the need for a pen and paper. It has left many feeling amazed and maybe a little jealous 😉
    7. The Camera – It is exceptionally good and those complaining about the quality should be reminded that phone cameras are not compared to DSLRs and Point and Shoots.

    1. There are a few software glitches that require fix. I read that the UI is not optimised to run the HexaCore on the Note 3 Neo and have experienced the camera app crashing and a lag. The problem was troubleshooted and fixed but nothing like a good old optimization (which is said to be released with the upcoming KitKat 4.4.2 update)
    2. Almost no accessories have been made available by Samsung or anyone else for that matter.

I bought this phone for 20k from Kohinoor Electronics ( under exchange to my Grand Quattro) yesterday.

I researched for almost 6 Months to get the best phone in this range.

The phones we saw in this range before buying this BEAST :
    1) Moto G
    2) Moto X
    3) Sony Xperia series
    4) Samsung Galaxy Alpha series
    5) MicroMax Canvas Nitro, Knight etc

I will tell you why I bought this phone :
    1) Samsung. (Those who believe that it’s SAMEDUNG or so.. please have a hands on this phone and then you’ll realise how GOOD this phone is)

    2) This has awesome battery life (lasts 1.5 days) but please as soon as you buy this phone..first charge it to 100 % then only start using. After 5 – 10 charges, the battery life will improve further.

    3) S Pen, S Health , S Voice , S Translate , S this , S that….. So Many Features….. TOUCHWIZ does occupy some RAM but it does provide so many features SO GUYS PLEASE STOP CALLING IT BLOATWARE…..

    4) If you are confused in Colours, then choose White…it LOOKS AWESOME….(but make sure it’s stain free. The Stitched Back Cover makes it look like a 40k Phone.
If you can’t maintain your phone, then choose BLACK.

    5) Light Weight. This phone is much lighter than NOTE 2.

    6) This phone is 720p Display which is CRYSTAL CLEAR and this actually adds to the battery life. Our eye can slightly differentiate between 1080p but it will drain your battery quicker. SO GUYZ PLEASE STOP CRAVING FOR 1080p Displays.

NEED I SAY MORE ? Such awesome specs at 20k is impossible PLEASE GO FOR IT.
