Chinese Mobile Company, Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Redmi Note 5, which leaked fully today. Now specifications, expected price and launch time is on the cards. Previous rumour of Redmi 5 Plus replacing the Redmi Note 5 and company ditching the Note series now appears false. A recent report suggests that handset is under internal testing. Launch of handset will be crucial for Chinese company because its predecessor, Redmi Note 4 was a huge success and went on to become best selling smartphone of the year, making Xiaomi stand as a biggest smartphone vendor while sharing the same position with Samsung.
Expected specifications of Redmi Note 5 suggests a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. If we go by the report then handset will be powered by un-released Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC clocked at 1.8GHz speed. Snapdragon 632 is not released yet by Qualcomm and this is the prime reason for delay in launch of Redmi Note 5. Snapdragon 632 is under-clocked version of Snapdragon 636. But, the processor on handset will witness the same Qualcomm Spectra 160 ISP modem, which is better for optimizing dual camera.
Other leaked information reveals packing of dual camera on the rear panel with double 12 mega-pixel sensors and a 5 mega-pixel camera sensor is expected on the front panel. If all such rumors appears correct then Redmi Note 5 will be launched in two variants – first, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and second, 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Successor of Redmi Note 4 is expected to debut in Quarter 2, 2018 as it is currently under internal testing. Smartphone will compete with the new to be launched smartphones in Mobile World Congress, 2018 as Nokia 6 (2018) and new Motorola phones are going to be unveiled in MWC. Redmi Note 5 will as usual give tight fight to the competitor mobiles as users are expecting some great fitting inside it and this hype is all contributed to success of Redmi Note 3 and next version of it.
The Redmi Note 5 will have a price tag of CNY 1599 (approx. Rs.15,999) for the basic variant which is slightly higher than its predecessor. There is no word on India launch and price yet.
