Xiaomi on Friday launched its first gaming phone, BlackShark in China. It is loaded with several pro-gaming features and has a specific look breaking the stereotypes. After being spotted at GeekBench few weeks back, it has now finally made to the market. Initially gaming handset is launched for Chinese market only but we can expect it in several other markets including India in few months. Along side official announcement, company also outed controller dock for the BlackShark gaming phone. The controller can be attached to the smartphone and it has a joystick and trigger button.
Xiaomi BlackShark Gaming Phone Features, Price and availability
BlackShark is a company backed by Xiaomi and its first gaming smartphone runs Android 8.0 Oreo and supports Dual SIMs. It has a 5.99 inch Full HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and taller than normal 18:9 aspect ratio. The display on the gaming phone provides DCI-P3 Wide colour gamut up to 97-percent and 550 nits brightness. The Xiaomi BlackShark is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core CPU where four performance cores are clocked at 2.8GHz and four efficiency cores at 1.8GHz speed.
BlackShark gaming smartphone features same aesthetic design as Razer Phone packing into green and black colour. Handset comes in two variants of 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB internal memory and 8GB RAM paired with 128GB internal storage. There is no dedicated slot available to further increase the storage.
Taking of optics, it has dual rear camera setup featuring two sensors of 12 megapixel (f/1.8 aperture, 1.25 µm pixel size lens) and 20 megapixel (f/1.8 aperture, 1.0 µm pixel size lens). The dual camera is supported with 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase detection autofocus, dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR and Panorama. Xiaomi BlackShark Gaming phone also sports a 20 megapixel shooter on the front panel with f/2.2 aperture and 1.0 µm size lens.
It is charged up by a battery of 4000mAh capacity and supported with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Connectivity features includes Bluetooth V5.0, 4G VoLTE support, 3.5 mm to USB-C headphone adapter, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS. The gaming phone measures 161.6 x 75.4 x 9.3 mm and weighs at 190 grams.
The Xiaomi BlackShark Gaming Phone Price is set at CNY 2,999 (approx Rs.30,999) for 6GB/64GB variant and 8GB/128GB version is marked at CNY 3,499 (approx Rs.36,100). The pre-orders for the phone has already started through Xiaomi China website, JD.com and YouPin. Gaming smartphone will be available in first sale on 20th April in two shades of Polar Night and Sky Gray. The controller we talked about above is priced at CNY 179 that roughly translates into INR 1,899.
