Xiaomi Redmi 5 will be Amazon Exclusive, set to launch on 14th March

Launch of Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro is not older by a month yet, Xiaomi is all set to launch a new smartphone in India on 14th March. Although, company has not revealed the name of device but it is speculated to be Redmi 5. Another information regrading the launch is out that handset will be exclusive to Amazon India.

Compact powerhouse - Redmi 5

Xiaomi is building suspense over the name of smartphone from last week. It all started with teasing of #CompactPowerhouse smartphone on twitter in a series of tweets. Now, a new development has emerged in regard to Xiaomi Redmi 5 that it will be launched exclusively on Amazon India at a launch event slated to start at 3PM on 14th March, 2018. Amazon India has put a dedicated page for the handset and all images on the pages teases about the features that device will pack. Users can click on ‘Notify Me’ button to subscribe to latest updates about Redmi 5.

The teased features so far confirms that to-be-launched smartphone will be a power pack device with standard chipset and bigger battery. Apart from that, Amazon page confirms about packing of features like bigger display, better crafting to fit perfectly in your hands, better selfie camera with LED flash capable of clicking better shots in darker lights, slimmer in design and better combination of processor and RAM for a faster device.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 packs 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor paired with 2GB/3GB/4GB RAM. It features a 12 mega-pixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and 5 mega-pixel selfie camera with soft light flash. It is charged up by a 3300mAH battery. It measures 151.8 x 72.8 x 7.7 mm in terms of dimensions.

We do not know the exact price of Xiaomi Redmi 5 but we can assure that it will be priced lower than the base price (Rs.9,999) of Redmi Note 5. Even, company has not confirmed the name of device yet.
