Xiaomi Redmi 5A now available in Lake Blue colour, 5 Mn units sold of Redmi 5A

Xiaomi recently announced the arrival of Lake Blue colour variant for Redmi 5A in India. Company also confirms that it had sold more than 5 million units of it since the launch. Lake Blue will now join other shades for Redmi 5A in India such as Gold, Dark Grey and Rose Gold. Phone with said colour can be purchased in next sale on Flipkart and Mi.com e-store on 22nd March, 2018 at price of Rs.5,999 only. It was teased as #DeshKaSmartphone for several weeks ahead of the launch to target low budget customers.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A Lake Blue

Redmi 5A was initially launched in November, 2017 with colour options of Dark Grey and Rose Gold at a price of Rs.4,999 only in India. Rose Gold was added on 1st February, 2018 and now Lake Blue has also arrived. Company has launched three smartphones in last few weeks for the country such as Redmi Note 5, Redmi 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro. Redmi 5A Lake Blue can also be touted as new launch.

It can be noted that price of Xiaomi Redmi 5A was hiked to Rs.5,999 by removing the discount of Rs.1,000 which was given to buyers as the launch offer. Company went to stress the sale of 5 million units, which indeed is great and it adds the handset to the list of successful launches by the maker.

Apart from new shade, no other configurations are altered. Xiaomi Redmi 5A sports a 5.0-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 pixels screen resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor coupled with 2GB/3GB RAM. In terms of storage, it offers 16GB paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB matched with 3GB RAM. It runs Android Nougat based MIUI 9 under the hood.

The Redmi 5A features 13 mega-pixel rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 5 mega-pixel selfie snapper with f/2.0 aperture. It is charged up by a 3000mAH battery. No fingerprint sensor is available on the device. It measures 140.4 x 70.1 x 8.4 mm in terms of dimensions and weighs 137 gram.
